B.R.A.S.S. Lions: Family Ties, has been accepted into the upcoming anthology, Steampunk Originals Vol. 6. This story features two of the figures from our first B.R.A.S.S. Lions story, The Auction (coming up in Steampunk Originals Vol. 5). The new story does not pick up right after the initial one, but jumps to a point later down the road and to a fairly unrelated event. In spreading out the space between stories, I hope that we can build a more fully realized world and mythology than we creating directly linear comics.
To be fair the idea of giving more breathing room between installments was an accident of having a tight schedule. The script was the first Lions story I wrote, so it was expedient to use since it was complete. It was Mike Schneider, the editor at Steampunk Originals, who pointed out how powerful such a pacing method could be for developing a property. As such, I think we are going to keep it going in this vein.
While Rick Marcks and I are both involved in this new story, GIO was too busy to color. Rick and I were lucky enough to nab the very talented Memo Regalado. His colors have a different style, but they are pretty great and work well with the story.
Here’s a sample page to check out. Once the book is out I’ll throw up a link.
